A parade? Me???

It's been one of Madison's life-long goals to be in a parade. We go to every 4th of July, Memorial and Christmas parade possible and each and every time, she questions me as to how SHE can be in the parade too. I've put her off thus far by explaining that if she's in the parade, she can't gather candy that's thrown to the crowd.


Well! Her day finally arrived. The state of Ohio sponsored a "National Night Out" program, encouraging families and neighborhoods to get people outside on this particular evening and the overall theme of it was safety. Thankfully, Nana's neighborhood participated and invited us to join. In addition to cookies and snacks, face painting, police cruiser rides, and visits by McGruff the safety dog, and Officer "Big Man", the highlight of the evening was the bike parade for all kids, led by a cruiser, siren and all! Girlfriend was thrilled!!

Nathan had to be in the parade too, but sadly was left in the dust when the parade began.

She is SO proud and excited!!
